50th Anniversary Turkey Dinner for Seniors (1973-2023)

On November 18th, the Whitman Knights of Columbus hosted its 50th Turkey Dinner for Seniors! The Whitman Knights of Columbus is a non-profit organization that serves as a community function center. The Turkey Dinner has been a yearly tradition since 1973 for fifty straight years. Every single year, the Whitman-Hanson Football team shows up to help serve the meals, giving them a chance to meet the seniors in the community. In addition, the Whitman Police also helped with serving meals. Overall, this was another successful event hosted by the Knights of Columbus that brought everyone in the community together!

From the Whitman Police Department Facebook page:

“A few more pics of the Whitman Knights of Columbus Turkey Dinner For Seniors that we attended this past Saturday.

A big THANKS to the Knights of Columbus for hosting this event for the 50th straight year, since 1973!!

The Whitman-Hanson Football Team shows up every year to help serve the meals. A great opportunity for those kids to mingle with the generation that paved the way.

Whitman Council on Aging Director, Mary Holland, told a few of her classic jokes and kept the mood festive.

Our very own Whitman Police were also on hand to help serve the meals. Thank you K of C for having us!

A great time was had by all. We look forward to next years event!”
